Our team have received a call from the police to cover a crime scene. The police have given us the scenario about the crime scene, and they sealed off the area. The police found a house that had been broken into via the kitchen, which leads into a study, and there is a threatening message and a Lilly flower that has been left on the floor, and there are some powders on the worktop, and there are cup and a bottle in the sink. The police found two suspects, one of these suspects carried out the crime, and the other suspect didn’t. The police have taken the following evidence from the suspects:
· Trainers with soil
· Trousers with pollen
· Their fingerprints
· Pens from them
· Statements
Statements:
Statement from Luke De Ville:
Luke said” I was in the area as my girlfriend lives close by. She goes to the same school, and they are in the same class. I don’t like him as he is too smooth. It was a bit much after going to the trouble and expense of buying her flowers to give to her birthday that day. I felt a real idiot carrying them through town before picking her up. I walked into town and caught the bus home. I didn’t go to the house I had no reason”
Statement from Witness (Lester Dew):
Lester Dew said” I was taking my dog for a walk at about 10.30 pm on the day in question and I saw someone wearing a light coloured T shirt and jeans climb over the wall near the college. As I returned home that evening I saw what I thought was the same person walking further down the road near to the roundabout. This was about 11.30 pm”
Statement from Angela Dogood:
Angela said” I walked home from football practice past the house on the night in question I always go that way. I know the people who are going to move in as, Nelson. We often meet on the pitch in inter-school games. He is a hard player and we are competing against each other for the player of the season prize. I don’t like him as he is rather a dirty player at the time but I would not threaten him. I don’t have reason to do it. I didn’t enter the garden of the house and did not write the note that you found.
Police finding:-

After the police has collected evidence from the suspect, and taken the statement. I went to the crime scene to collect evidence, and our investigation team found a lot of evidence at the crime scene. This can help to find the person who is guilty of committing this crime (criminal). The following evidence was found at the crime scene:
· foot print
· Lilly flower on the floor
· note on the floor
· cup, and bottle in the sink
· powder on the worktop
· broken window
· blood on the window
Our team of investigators are qualified in carrying out the testing of the evidence found from the crime scene, and the suspects, and analysing the results. After finding the result we are linking all the results from the evidence gathered, to find out the suspect guilty of committing this crime (criminal) from the result. Forensic investigators work with the police to find the criminal and give a clear picture of what happens at the crime scene, and then convict the criminal in court.
I have carried out many tests to analyse the result form the evidence I have been given, and taken from the crime scene.
These tests were carried out on the evidence from the crime scene:
· Analysing the finger print from the cup found at the crime scene, and compare it with the suspect prints.
· footprint analysing form the soil, then compare it to the suspect shoes (Biology test)
· Soil analysing form the shoes, and linked to the soil form the crime scene (chemical test)
· Chemical testing, (cations test , anions test ) for the powder was found at the crime scene at the worktop
· Chromatography test to analyse from the ink from the note, and analyse the ink form the suspect pens (Chemical test )
· Analysing the fibre form the suspect cloths (Biology test )
· Analyse the pollen from the suspects cloths (Biology test )
Finding:
Foot print:

Our investigating group went to the crime scene, when we entered the crime scene we found footprint out doors, and we analysed the print form the soil by using hair spray, and plastic tray. We have taken the fingerprint to the laboratory to test the print form the soil. We use the Dental plaster to analyse the footprint form the soil, and we work carefully to get a good print at the dental plaster. We were given by the police suspects shoe to compare it to the foot print at the crime scene. After a few weeks the footprint was ready to compare with the suspect’s shoes. The shapes of the footprint was found at the crime scene, it was from the suspect Luke De Ville, and we analysed the soil, and we found the soil on Luke shoes the same as from the crime scene. This test is against Luke De Ville, because we have found his shoes print, at the crime scene.
Soil analysing:
We have found soil at the suspect shoes. This soil at these shoes can helped us find the criminal from this crime scene. Our investigating team have taken the soil, to different stages, or tests to find which of these soils at the suspect’s shoes is the crime scene soil. Our tests for the soils will be two different tests a microscope test and a sedimentation test. We started testing the soil under the microscope, to see which soil is from the crime scene. We have taken soil from the crime scene to compare it to the soils from the suspects. At the first test under the microscope, we have looked to the soils under the microscope, at this test we have found the soil from the suspect Luke De Ville was the right soil from the crime scene. At the second test (sedimentation test) we mixed the water with the soils, and then we left the mixtures for a few weeks to settle the soils. After, few weeks we found the soil form the suspect Luke De Ville was the same result as the soil from the crime scene. I found this test is against Luke De Ville 100%.
Fingerprint:
We went to the crime scene trying to find more evidence of the crime, then I found a cup and bottle of beer at the worktop, and that mean is some one uses this cup to drink the beer. We have taken the cup to the laboratory to find any finger print at the cup, and we found left thumb print. After analysing the finger print by using powder, and the brush. We use to have the suspects finger prints form the police, then we compared the fingerprints. We found these fingerprints didn’t belong to the suspect Angela Dogood because the fingerprints was completely different, however, we found this thumbprint was Luke De Ville, because the shapes, and the size of the thumbprint was the same. I have found this test is against Luke 100%
Pollen stain:
At the crime scene we have found Lilly flower on the floor, and the police have given as some T-shirts, and trousers from the suspects, and on the trousers was some pollen stain. Our team are going to find out what kind of stain is it? We looked under the microscope how the Lilly pollen looks like. When we finished looking at the Lilly pollen, we have taken the stain pollen from the trousers, by using sellotape. We used the microscope to find out what kind of pollen stain we have. I have found from looking to the pollen stains, Luke have the Lilly pollen stain at him trouser, and that mean Luke left the Lilly flower, or touched it. The stain we found on Angela trousers was different. This test is against the suspect Luke De Ville, because we have found the same stain from the Lilly flower was found it at the crime scene.
Analysing the ink (chromatography test):
We have found at the crime scene note left for Nelson, and the police have given as pens from the two suspects to find more details of information about how write this note. We use chromatography test to analyse the ink from the note, and find out who this ink belongs. After, we finish the test we have found the ink from Angela was completely different from ink found at the crime scene. We found Luke had the same ink from the crime scene, and we discovered he wrote the note.
